Hoist Operator Training

Hoist Operator Training

hoist operator training

This hoist operator training course meets the OSHA requirements and covers essential topics such as crane components, maintenance, safe operation and hazard awareness.

“Hoist Operator Training” is a commonly used term for overhead crane safety and operator training. Training is generally expected for anyone operating, supervising, or working near overhead cranes in construction, manufacturing, and warehouse environments.

Safe overhead hoist and crane operation requires more than basic equipment handling. Operators must be trained to recognize potential hazards, perform pre-operational inspections, control load swing, protecting hoist components from unnecessary wear, and comply with industry safety standards. Effective training is critical for promoting workplace safety, equipment reliability, and regulatory compliance.

We frequently conduct training sessions in southern Minnesota, particularly in the Mankato region, but we are happy to travel anywhere in Greater Minnesota and beyond.

This course is a pass/fail program that incorporates classroom and practical training along with written and practical examination. Topics include US OSHA Regulations, ANSI standards (ANSI 92), inspections, personal protective equipment, responsibilities, equipment components, and safe work procedures.
